New Year's Eve Con is an annual event in Oak Brook, Illinois on New Year's Eve into the morning hours of New Year's Day.

Charity[edit]

New Year's Eve Con is currently a charity event, with a charity tip jar, charity raffle, and the promise of any net revenue after hotel costs also going to the charity.

2013[edit]

The 2013 event, advertised as the "LAFF New Year's Eve 2014" event, was held over December 31, 2013, to January 1, 2014.[1]

2012[edit]

New Year's Eve Con 2012 was held on December 31, 2012, returning to the Residence Inn Oak Brook for the fourth time. The charity for NYEC 2012 was Lost Dogs Illinois, returning from 2011. The fursuit parade had 8 suiters this year, with 48 attendees. Timoran was the chairman for the second consecutive year.

2011[edit]

In 2011, the event was held at the Residence Inn Oak Brook and the number in attendance was 27. This year marked the first year with the name New Year's Eve Con, and the first year a fursuit parade took place. Timoran was the chairman. $60 was donated to Lost Dogs Illinois in 2011.

2010[edit]

In 2010, the event was held at the Residence Inn Oak Brook and the number in attendance was about 30. Shale Ari was the chairman.

2009[edit]

In 2009, the event was held at the Residence Inn Oak Brook and the number in attendance was about 30. Shale Ari was the chairman.

Pre-2009 history[edit]

In 2007, Timoran hosted the LAFF New Year's Eve party at the Super 8 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. 20 attended, and $156 was donated to the Almost Home Foundation. Timoran spun off the west-suburban Chicago area New Year's Eve event to continue the LAFF New Years Eve tradition, as the previous year's New Year's Eve party staff had disbanded.
