My Life As a Furry is a piece that appeared in the Los Angeles Alternative in April 2003. It mentions the Vanity Fair and Sex2K coverage, and states "In truth, the Furry scene is nowhere near as sexy as the media have made it out to be. Furries are strange, sad, eccentric, malcontented and geeky, but sexy? No. It’s much more complicated than that."[1]
