Mid-Atlantic Anthropomorphic Association, Inc. is a Virginia non-stock corporation with an IRS 501(c)3 educational charity status. It is the organization behind regional events such as Fur the 'More and Mid-Atlantic Fur-B-Que.

On October 12th, 2019 that charity announced that it was launching a scholarship program in memorial of one of its volunteers who passed away in 2017. [1]

The organization was officially incorporated on April 25th, 2017. It received it's 501(c)3 designation from the IRS on April 4th, 2018 under ID#82-1071057. The designation was retroactive to their foundation.

Mid-Atlantic Anthropomorphic Association, Inc. was incorporated by the board of directors for Mid-Atlantic Anthropomorphic Society after it was determined that the original organizations missions and goals were more in line with being a charity rather than a social club. All of the assets,finances, and events under the origination organization were transferred to the new organization upon granting of charitable status. As the missions and goals of the new charity organization were identical to the original organization, the original organization was then dissolved.

Mid-Atlantic Anthropomorphic Society[edit]

Mid-Atlantic Anthropomorphic Society was incorporated on July 30th, 2014 by the senior staff of Fur the 'More after they event was informed that their move from Maryland to Virginia meant that the Northeast Anthropomorphic Association would no longer be able to house the event under their corporation. It was incorporated in Virginia as a non-stock corporation, and granted an IRS designation of 501(c)7 (social club) on April 9th, 2015.

The organization continued to operate in good standing until its dissolution in 2019 when it was replaced by Mid-Atlantic Anthropomorphic Association, Inc.
