Mephit Furmeet 16, aka MFM 16, the sixteenth annual Mephit Furmeet, took place August 31 - September 2, 2012, at the Whispering Woods Hotel & Conference Center in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The theme was "Year of the Skunk", related to the Chinese Zodiac. The guests of honor were the convention charity, Tiger Haven. $5141 was raised for them in the charity auction, with additional events raising this to $7191 from the convention; the charity made over $6300 at their table.
Attendance was 548, with 96 participants in the fursuit parade. On Sunday evening following the closing ceremonies, there was a tornado warning in the area and the convention venue lost power for about two hours. A tornado touchdown occurred within sight of the convention center; fortunately there was no property damage on site.

Tavi Munk was the winner of the popular vote for the T-shirt front design.
The director's choice for the T-shirt back design was Felpur.Samael.
The staff's choice for the convention staff T-shirts was Wolfaya.
