Megaplex 2020 was to be the nineteenth iteration of Megaplex, scheduled to take place at the Caribe Royal in Orlando Florida on August 21-23, 2020.[1] Its guests of honor were to be Hyena Agenda and Kyell Gold. On May 12, 2020 a cancellation announcement was posted on the convention's Twitter.[2]
Megaplex Online[edit]
On July 1, 2020, the convention's Twitter announced an online convention to take place on the same dates as the previously cancelled Megaplex 2020.[3] The theme was changed to "Megaplex Online: Online Furry Fun," and the previous theme of "All Aboard!" was to be rolled over to the 2021 iteration.[4]
Megaplex Online 2020 was hosted on the Hopin platform from August 21-23, 2020 and saw a total of 571 registered attendees.[5] The virtual fursuit parade featured 101 fursuiters from around the world.[6] A total of $10,079.73 was raised for its charity, the C.A.R.E. Foundation.[7]
