MancFurs is a community group, comprising of furs residing in the ten metropolitan boroughs of Greater Manchester county, England. This includes Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Wigan, and the cities of Manchester and Salford.

The community is over a hundred furs strong. It holds monthly meets for the community, and twice-a-year 'main meets' that attract visitors from across over Northern England and the UK.

The meets, referred to as "minimeets" are run by a committee, as well as a team of volunteers. The meets usually convene at Manchester Piccadilly Rail Station, and move on to an allocated venue, which currently (as of May 2014) is TriBeCa. The venue has a social space, and allocated areas for an Artist's Alley, a Fursuit Lounge, and is directly next to Sackville Park, where fursuiters often congregate. There is usually a fursuit walk, which has varying routes depending on the weather, and events going on in the city.

MancFurs committee[edit]

The MancFurs committee organises two kinds of events: furmeets held every second Saturday of the month in Manchester City Centre, and party events held biannually. The MancFurs committee is bound by a charter.

The committee is made up of three departments who hold a vote on decisions at meetings. As of May, 2014, they are:

  • Geo Panda as Fursuit Liaison
  • Pizza as Community and Communications Liaison
  • Rixie as Venue and Booking Liaison.
