Kasarn Deauralius (born December 29, 1983) is a furry artist who lives in Baulkham Hills, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.[1] His fursona is a wolf[2] and is often part demon or unicorn.

Furry history[edit]

Growing up in the late 80s and early 90s, Kasarn was exposed to many anthropomorphic animals in western cartoons and possessed a slight affinity towards anthropomorphic mice and rats. Some of his childhood friends were obsessed with Sonic the Hedgehog and Kasarn took a liking to Tails, although he never played the game.

In 1996, his interests of rats would carry over into Warhammer Fantasy Battle's Skaven. Although he, like many young players, collected a High Elf army due to their inclusion in the 4th edition box set and it wouldn't be until Mordheim's release in 1998/99 that he would actually use Skaven in a game.

1998 would see the release of the Pokémon frachise in the west and, during its initial popularity, Kasarn had knowledge of all 150 original Pokémon.

Over the next few years, he developed an interest in worldbuilding, often incorporating wolven motifs. He would also develop the character Arikatas, a Skaven assassin who would later be redesigned as the lion character Arikatas Lorintyr.

In 2001, he had his first non-school related experience on the internet by playing the MMORPG Everquest (which he no longer plays), where his two most played characters were of the Iksar lizardman race. These two characters would go on to become his werewolf characters, Xakik Kurteuras and Kasarn Deauralius.

His continued exposure to the internet led him to explore his interest in wolves, werewolves and therianthropy, which then led to his discovery of the furry fandom.

Unicorns[edit]

Kasarn's interest in unicorns stems from a short period in 2003 where he had many encounters with unicorn imagery in unrelated situations. After this experience, he expressed facetious concerns about a vast unicorn conspiracy. His fursona has since taken on part unicorn status, meaning that the faux conspiracy has been fulfilled.
