Jailbird is a furry artist and she is married to Leenden.[1] She has a daughter.[2]
Her Fur Affinity account was started on July 10, 2007.[1] (so she has been on FA for a decade as of July 10, 2018) Jailbird illustrated Code Drop, a story by Tempe O'Kun, in Heat #7 (release in 2010).[3]
Controversy[edit]
As of 2018 July 11, there are three beware posts at Artists Beware LiveJournal about Jailbird (two unresolved, plus a resolved one from 2011)[4]
On June 10, 2018, Jailbird posted she was "still hundreds of commissions deep."[2] (i.e. unfinished commissions)
Between June 10, 2018, [5] and July 8, 2018[6] 24 pieces of art (all commissions for other furries) have been uploaded to her main FA gallery, so she is completing commissions.
On January 12th, 2019, in response to mounting community outcry over her conduct, Jailbird ceased accepting commissions on Fur Affinity in order to catch up on previous commissions. She posted two journals responding to the situation, claiming that she "...never set out to scam anyone"[7] and that she is planning on completing all commissions and refunds. She also acknowledged the number of unfinished commissions was "...somewhere in the hundreds, speckled throughout the last 5 years"[8]. Due to the elapsed time it's difficult to tell exactly how many commissions and refunds are owed, but community estimations are between 250 and 500.
Fur Affinity users noted that Jailbird had created an account on Inkbunny under the alias JBee on January 10th, 2019, where she began taking new commissions almost immediately. According to Jailbird's husband, this was done to support their family, saying "Cars break down, the husband loses their jobs, kids need clothes to go back to school..."[7] As of December 2022 those commissions past due and any and all complaints would go unaddressed and uncompleted.[9]
On October 27, 2022, it was revealed through FurAffinity user Dantelol that Jailbird had created a Mastodon/Baraag account under the username lassnights where she posted hardcore shota containing both anthro furry adult on cub as well as human on human artworks. The furry-related artwork from this account would later appear posted to the art archive website e621.net.[10]
This would not be the first time this controversy would surface, Jailbird first faced criticism over this suggestive content on June 10, 2018, when she drew romantic fanart of Rick and Morty in a consensual love scene and posted it to FurAffinity where it spurred a rapid and immediate public outcry from both her fanbase and anyone that happened to see this image on the front page leading her to delete it within hours of it being submitted to the site.[11]
Sometime after the Mastodon account discovery was made public, Jailbird's Picarto account where she streamed and drew the artwork for friends only after previously allowing anyone to join and request a paid commission was locked down to invite-only, and by December 2022 her FurAffinity account would be deleted as well as more people discovered her Mastodon/Baraag account and the explicit artwork that was posted there. Her InkBunny account which had sat inactive was also deleted as well around this same time frame.
As of January 6, 2023 her FurAffinity account was re-created under the exact same username as before as a blank account.
