While surfing through various websites, he found anthropomorphic art and started submitting his own art to the InflatioNation website. While online, he started chatting and getting acquainted with other furries such as Sir Kain in 2005, before attending his first furry convention, Anthrocon, that same year.

He became one of the six original Fur Affinity administrators[6] in 2005 after it's beta launch under Alkora's ownership. Halfshell is also a WikiFur editor.

Through various furry conventions, Halfshell had many jobs and titles. He was a variety show performer, gopher, and security staff for Midwest FurFest 2007, gopher, wrangler and security for Morphicon 2009.

Halfshell often hangs around Second Life as Halfshell Boa,[7] where he has created logos for various clubs and groups including the Gay Furry Club (GFC) and Cold Flame.

Fursonas[edit]

  • Halfshell - Halfshell's main fursona is a turtle - a transition from the TMNT community to the furry community. The character has orange-red hair and wears a backward blue ball cap, blue jeans, and a belt. He usually goes shirtless, displaying a very prominent outie belly button.
  • Sabaka, full Sabaka Mahusky - Sabaka is a black and white husky/wolf mix (wusky), with red eyes and a scar down across the right eye. He wears a blue Hawaiian shirt with a light blue palm tree leaves pattern. Sabaka is currently used in the Ironclaw role-playing game, and was Halfshell's fursuit.
  • Sabaka 'Zlo - Sabaka's alter-ego, who wears a tunic, armor shoulder plates, a long red cape, and a skull belt. "Sabaka Zlo" is pronounced as Saa'baka and has the Russian meaning for dog or wolf; "Zlo" as Shl'oe, the Russian meaning "demon", "evil", or "devil". The character was initially created as an idea for a comic book villain.

Fursuit[edit]

Halfshell's initial fursuit was of one of Sabaka Mahusky, who retired it in 2009.
