Fuzzfest is a proposed furry mini-convention expected to occur over two days in the Washington D.C. area during Labor Day weekend starting in 2021. The event will be centered around celebrating the beginning of summer.

Fuzzfest is the concept of Sylox, the current owner of Maryland Furs. It has been an idea dating back to 2017, and was first mentioned in June of 2018 as an event that could be held in the DC Metro Area during the summer, albeit in the form of a Rave. The idea, however, was scrapped in favor of more practical, smaller events. However, with Maryland Furs beginning the process of incorporation in mid-2019, the idea was thrust again into the forefront and is moving ahead of this writing into a reality.

Charity No charity has been determined at this time, however, it is expected that a Baltimore City-based charity will be chosen along with an animal-related on as well.

Two mascots, Astro and Ori, will be used for the event. They are named for Astrodon Johnstoni, the official state dinosaur of Maryland and the Baltimore oriole, the official bird of the same state.
