Although the convention was originally intended to be held in Melbourne, It was later decided, (and in conjunction with the original organizers relocating to Queensland) that hosting FurDU on the Gold Coast, a major Australian holiday destination, would prove more beneficial and encourage a larger attendance from the community.
 FurDU 2010
Both the convention registration costs and the choice of venue were planned in an effort to make attending an Australian convention as affordable as possible. The official website stated that attending FurDU for the three days it runs for should cost under $200 AUD for its attendees including all accommodation costs.

 FurDU 2011
FurDU 2011 was held again at the 'Vibe' Hotel over April 15-17. The event was fully booked as of February 5, and 130 ultimately attended.
 FurDU 2012
FurDU was held at the Watermark hotel over April 27-29, with events including a "Carnival Live", a furry game show (featuring Furimly Feud [sic.], Wheel of Furtune and Who wants to be a popufur?), poker and video game tournaments, entertainment from members of ACTfur On Air, fursuit games and a charity auction for the Australia Zoo. Attendance almost doubled, to 246.
