Furry Siesta
Furry Siesta is a two-day sister event to Furry Fiesta. The event was originally advertised as a large furmeet rather than a convention, and did not feature panels, ceremonies, Artist Alley, or a Dealer's Den.[1] Furry Siesta 2018 was the first year to feature scheduled events, an organized fursuit parade, as well as a small Dealer's Den and Artist Alley marking the event's transition from large furmeet to a mini-con.
Furry Siesta 2015 was held at the Crowne Plaza Dallas Near Galleria-Addison Hotel from 31 July-1 August 2015.[1]
The 2015 event saw about 306 attendees.[2] During the event, other groups had booked the other halls in the hotel, one of which was attended by the Prime Minister Of Uganda, Ruhakana Rugunda.[3]
In December 2015, a tweet[4] suggested that it was being considered as a regular event. This was confirmed in February 2016[5].
Furry Siesta 2016 was held at the Crowne Plaza Dallas Near Galleria-Addison Hotel on July 15th - July 16th, 2016 and had an attendance of 442.[6]
Furry Siesta 2017 was held over August 4-5, 2017,[7] this time at the Hyatt Regency DFW Hotel in Dallas Fort Worth, Texas.[7] Attendance was 329.[8]
Furry Siesta 2018 was held over July 20-21, 2018,[9] at the Hyatt Regency North Dallas in Richardson, Texas[9] and had an attendance of 575,[10] with 114 in the fursuit parade.[11]
Furry Siesta 2019 was held over July 19-20, 2019, again at the Hyatt Regency North Dallas[12], and had an attendance of 755.[13]
Furry Siesta 2021 was held at the Hyatt Regency Reunion Tower, and had an attendance of 985
Furry Siesta 2022 was held over July 15-17, 2022, again at the Hyatt Regency Reunion Tower, and had an attendance of 1215.
