elysium (alternatively elysiumHF[1]; born June 3, 1992[2]) is a furry lifestyler who lives in Durban, South Africa.[2] His personal furry is a tall, thin, male Emperor Penguin with brown eyes, three scars across his chest, and one on his face, below his left eye.[3]

[edit] Early Days

He first encountered anthropomorphism at a young age, in the form of the animated film Watership Down. This led to a love of animals, and enjoyment of cartoons and animated films with animals in, which he still has today.

[edit] Beginning of Fur

However, it took a number of years for him to become a fur. In 2007, on the back of a long depression, he came across Happy Feet. At first, he passed it off as another "cute" cartoon, but after watching it, he became obsessed. It would still take another year before he became a fur, however.

[edit] Descent into Fur

In April 2008, suffering a far worse depression, he watched Happy Feet once again. This drove his obsession over the edge, leading him to eventually (and accidentally) finding the Happy Feet Fan Forum, of which he is still a regular poster. Once there, he made the acquaintance of Diti, who guided him through the first small steps of becoming a fur.
