Digger is a comic by Ursula Vernon concerning a female wombat called Digger of Unnecessarily Convoluted Tunnels.

Synopsis[edit]

Digger arrives in an unknown land, and starts to seek a way back home, aided and hindered by an assortment of interesting characters, including hyena warriors, a statue of Ganesh, and a Shadow Child.

History[edit]

  • June 2006 - At Anthrocon, Ursula Vernon said that Digger does have a definite ending, but anticipates a total of five or six trade paperback collections before the story wraps up completely.
  • June 2010 - Five trade paperback volumes of collected strips have been published by Sofawolf Press.
  • November 23, 2010 - 732 pages in twelve chapters were posted.
  • March 17th, 2011 - The series came to an end at 759 pages in length.
  • April 2012 - Digger was nominated for[1] and won[2] "Best Graphic Story"[3] at the 2012 Hugo Awards.
  • 2013 - Digger volumes 1-6 won Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature[4]
