The Lion from the East (previous named Dao)[2] is a anthropomorphic webcomic, by Ishton. The story is fantasy action with the main character being Feral Earhart and is set in the city of Empyrean[3] in China.

Characters[edit]

  • Feral Earhart, a white lion[4] who can shape-shift from anthro form to non-anthro form.[5] Son of Scarlet Earhart. Boyfriend of Bento.[6] Head waiter at Earhart restaurant.[7] Suffers from Haphephobia (fear of being touched).[8] Sometimes called "Fer-Fer" (examples: pages 64 and 73). First appearance: page 1.[3] First named: page 20.[9]
  • Bento, a "tanuki yōkai" and boyfriend of Feral Earhart. Concierge at Earhart restaurant.[6] First appearance: page 30. First named: page 31.[6]
  • Scarlet Earhart a giant panda[10] and mother of Feral Earhart. Owner of Earhart Eastern Restaurant, the best restaurant in the China of the webcomic.
  • Loa, a small black salamander[11] with yellow spots (Bento calls him a "toad" in anger)[12] who can shapechange from anthro to non-anthro form (both with tail).[11] Best friend of Feral's. Chef at Earhart restaurant.[11] First named: page 3.[13] First appearance: page 4.[14]
  • Nynia, a giraffe centaur. Works at delivery service at Earhart restaurant.[15] First appearance (& named): page 26.
  • mysterious girl, a nekomata yōkai[16] who said her name is Monga.[16] First appearance probably page 36.[17]
  • The twins: Ardhanuh (nickname Izanagi) and Rishhara (nicknamed Izanami), two formless gods.[18] Referred to as "twin gods of Aina" in Chapter two.[19] First mentioned: page 52.[20] First shown: page 63 (tentacles only)[21] and page 64 (vaguely humanoid). First named: page 65.[18]
