Dance Dance Revolution, or DDR, also known as Dancing Stage in some parts of Europe, is a Japanese rhythm game that is very popular among some furries and can often be seen at furry conventions. The newest arcade release is Dance Dance Revolution A20 and the newest home console releases are Dance Dance Revolution X (PS2), Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2 (Xbox 360), and Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party 2 (Wii). There is currently no version available specifically for the PS3.

DDR at conventions[edit]

Tournaments for DDR have appeared at a number of conventions over the years. Even lacking a tournament, there is often at least a quick game setup at mostly every major convention. The largest and longest-running furry DDR tournaments are at Anthrocon and Midwest FurFest. Information on upcoming tournaments at conventions can usually be found on DDRFurs.

DDR at Anthrocon 2006[edit]

After many years of successful DDR tournaments at Anthrocon, in 2006, Tiger of the Wind implemented a new tournament format to challenge the now more experienced DDR Furry community. The Cardmod format had top DDR Furries fighting it out while a variety of modifications were applied to arrows to increase the difficulty. There were even moments where DDR was played with no music, with a participant singing the song the words to the song being played, and even with a small white tiger plushie purchased by Tiger's mother. The competition was fierce but in the end Eternal became a two time winner of the AC DDR Tourney.
