ConFuzzled 2019 was the twelfth instance of the convention ConFuzzled. It was held over May 23-28, 2019 at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham, England.

The theme was "The Brok From B.A.D.G.E.R." and the guests of honour were the director of the animated short films Joaquin Baldwin, and comic artist Gem Squirrel.[1]

Registration[edit]

Full pricing details and the opening date of registration was confirmed with a blog post on September 27, 2019.[2] Registration options for 2019 were the same as in previous years, with attending-only and residential tickets, both of which could be upgraded with "Plus" and "Sponsor" options for an extra £15 or £50 respectively, however 2019 is the first year that an additional upgrade option was included with "Super Sponsor" that was an extra £100.

The basic "attending only" ticket remained at £80. The basic residential ticket cost varied between £300 and £410 per person depending on the room type, and included breakfast and access to the hotel gym and pool. All of the rates were offered with a £10 early-bird discount until January 6, 2019.[3]

Registration officially opened at 1900BST on October 6, 2019.[4]

On December 9, 2018, it was announced that the convention had sold out of rooms at the main hotel and the official overflow hotel, the Crowne Plaza, will become available on December 10, 2018, with pricing remaining the same across both venues.[5]

On Janurary 23, 2019, Day Tickets became available to purchase for non-residential registrars[6].

Registration closed fully at 1900BST on April 13, 2019, and the final attendee statistics showed a total of 2116 attendees had registered from 36 different countries.[7]

Charity[edit]

The charity was confirmed as The Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre [8] on October 13 2018. Unfortunately, news broke on March 25, 2019, that the wildlife centre suffered a fire in the early morning. Confuzzled revealed the news and pledged for the fandom to give their donations. [9]

The total amount raised during the convention for the charity was £30,300.69 [10] It was also confirmed that a Harris Hawk had been named after the ConFuzzled mascot, Brok. [11]
