Circles vol. 1 (issues #0-4). Left to right, top to bottom: Douglas, Marty, Taye, Paulie, Arthur, Ken.

Circles is a gay-themed slice-of-life comic written by Steve Domanski and Andrew French, with art by K-9.

The comic follows characters Marty, Arthur, Douglas, Paulie, Taye and Ken and their daily lives. The first four issues focus on Marty and his way out of the closet and towards his first love, while later issues develop the other characters.

Circles is published by Rabbit Valley and is available through their website. There are currently eight issues of the comic as of November 2008. Issue #1 is not readily available in print format, except as part of Vol. 1, which collects issues #0 through #4 (pictured).

In 2013, digital editions of issues of Circles, including Issue #1, were made available through RabbitValley.com.

Setting[edit]

The setting is Boston, in the early years of the 21st century. The first issue is dated Spring 2001, and each issue corresponds to one season of time, with 4 issues being one year in the comic, so the latest issue as of this writing, issue #8, is Winter 2002. The comic deals primarily with six characters inhabiting a house at the fictional address of 6 Kinsey Circle (a pun on the Kinsey scale, where a rating of six means that the subject is exclusively homosexual).

Updates Issues 9 and Beyond[edit]

According to one of the creators, Circles will continue on. Episode 9 is currently in production. Below is a update posted by k-9.

"I wanted to share a sneak peek of how things are coming along with Circles.

I figured this is a good image to share that gives away no plot lines.

Working 100% digital this time. Trying to keep the feel of the comics, and putting in more time and detail I was unable to before. Trying to keep it familiar while moving forward visually.

The book is trucking along slowly. I have most of the pages thumbnailed and many of them already sketched out and different levels of inked etc etc.

More updates to come as things progress but for now things are truckin ahead. -K-9 :D"
