Chimerazation is a new technology that promises to slash the need for antirejection drugs.
Basically, to 'learn' friend from foe, the body's immune system gets its directions from a specific gland in the body, near the upper end of the spinal cord. By inserting foreign cells there, the body's immune system can learn to recognize those cells as being 'native' to the body.
It is not known what the limits are, when it comes to recognizing a number of different types of DNA as 'correct'; currently, it is known that two types of DNA can be learned reliably. Although the current goals are to use chimerazation to 'teach' the bodies of organ donors to not reject their transplants, furs interested in Physical transformation have found some other applications of the technology
Chimerazation has been undergoing animal trials for a few years now, with success. Hopefully, it will enter human trials by the end of the decade.
