I'm not sure about the distinction between this and Category:Events, and think merging the contents of Category:Parties into that one might be good. -- Sine 22:29, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

What about merging this into Category:Events, and having Category:Conventions as a subcategory? Or merging the lot into a Category:Conventions and events. While I do think Conventions are distinct, I don't feel keeping track of that line is worth a lot of energy when it comes to WikiFur categories. -- Sine 00:12, 3 June 2011 (EDT)

Bumping suggestion to merge back into Category:Events. -- Sine 17:29, 6 July 2011 (EDT)
Support merging Parties to Events, since neither really implies a distinction of open-invite versus invitation-only. BlueOtter 17:34, 6 July 2011 (EDT)
Well, the header for Parties does imply invitation only, but it's obvious this isn't well understood considering cons are sometimes tagged as Parties. BlueOtter 17:35, 6 July 2011 (EDT)
Any objections to replacing Category:Parties with Category:Events on the various articles, and deleting this category? -- Sine 17:44, 4 August 2011 (EDT)
My main concern is to have a way to distinguish events such as the Frozen Oasis, which have more of a "party" nature and are restricted to a private room or house. However, I admit even this event is not invitational-only, which is the typical definition of a party. --GreenReaper(talk) 18:51, 4 August 2011 (EDT)
The logical category name would be Invite-only events, I think. Perhaps down the line someone will put that category in place; for now, I'm going ahead and merging this category into Category:Events. A possible category is House parties, if that's a common enough term. -- Sine 18:30, 26 March 2012 (EDT)
