Carole Curtis is the editor for Arkansas-based Shanda Fantasy Arts, which she co-founded with her husband Mike. She is the creator and writer of the adventure comic Katmandu, which as of September 2008 was up to 36 issues. In addition, Carole produces the occasional Women in Fur anthology, featuring female writers and artists.

Carole runs two storylines in Katmandu. The first is of Leahtrah and Thorin that is set in their time period, which approximates the real life 1940's-1950's. The second follows stories that Leahtrah tells her husband and children of her ancestress, Liska, and is set in what would be the American Early Colonial Period. Liska's world is based upon Lakota Sioux, Cheyenne, and other Native American tribes and legends.

Carole and Mike Curtis were guests of honor ConFurence 9 (1998) and at Morphicon 2005.

Outside of Shanda Fantasy Arts, Carole is active in the Society for Creative Anachronism. She usually designs, sews and wears English Medieval or Italian Renaissance garb, but was recently caught in pictures with a Dragon Lord while she was wearing full Elizabethan garb. Carole was involved in cooking and preparing to serve a 3-course feast for 104 people on May 5th, 2006. She also critiques art, writing and scripting for dedicated creators when she finds time. Other hobbies include collecting dolls, creating jewelry and beadwork, enameling, and learning the art of lampworking.
