Camping Paws is an annual furry camping event which takes place at the Capoxi Dam, in the community of Jilotzingo, State of Mexico, Mexico. The first edition was in 2017.

History[edit]

At the beginning of 2017, a little group of furries from Mexico city went to a camp just outside the city. However, the group saw that the organization was not very good, so they decided to organize their own camp.

The venue chosen was the Capoxi Dam, Jilotzingo, in the State of Mexico. Only an hour and a half from Mexico city, this place had an ideal environment for recreation; an open space, cabins and a little lake.

In the middle of the same year, the camp was first held. There were aproximately 25 attendees, 14 of them with fursuits. Considered a success, it was decided to hold the camp every year and not limit it to just a group of friends.

2018[edit]

The first edition under the name of "Camping Paws" was realized the weekend of March 31 to April 1, the registration to the camp included the round trip from Mexico City, foods, lodging, oficial shirt, conmemorative cup and badge with ribbon.

Some of the activities carried out were outdoor, lounge games, campfire and night party, the camp had 36 attendees.

2019[edit]

In 2019 the camp was on the weekend of March 30-31 in the same place. The price of the registration increased to $1600 MXN ($84 USD approx) with a capacity limited to 50 attendees. During a weekly edition of Viernes Furry podcast, Apolo one of the staff members announced the intentions to make Camping Paws in different states of Mexico for future editions [1]. In practice there were 54 attendees.[2]

2020[edit]

In 2020, the camp was planned for March 14 and 15, however near of the deadline there has been no official news about the event, this is mainly because the staff is concentrating on organizing City Fur a new furry Convention in Mexico City.
