CallTech Communications is a major employer that specializes in outsourced technical support. It has call centers in:
- Columbus, Ohio
- Brownsville, Pennsylvania
- Fort Myers, Florida
- Albany, Georgia
- Columbia, South Carolina
- Fishers, Indiana
- Salt Lake City, Utah
CallTech is relevant to the fandom because of the unusually large percentage of furries it employs, especially in the two Columbus, Ohio locations. Its sub-projects (which cannot be listed here for legal reasons) are also given similar furry nicknames (also known as Lynxism). It is not uncommon to see the furry employees of CallTech wearing conbadges attached to their lanyards, alongside their work IDs and security passes. For that reason, it is sometimes referred to as "Furtech".
