California

California, a state in the United States of America, hosts a large number of furry fandom members and is a key place in the history of the fandom. The first furry convention, ConFurence, was first held in Costa Mesa, California in 1989 (running until 2003), and the state has five ongoing conventions, with Another Furry Con and Golden State Fur Con serving the Southern region of the state, and Further Confusion, Galactic Camp, and Pacific Anthropomorphics Weekend serving the North. In addition, Further Confusion is the 6th largest furry convention in the world.
