His attempt to legally change his name was covered in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,[2] and he has been covered by local radio[3] and National Geographic Channel's Taboo.[1]

Boomer The Dog appeared in a segment of the episode Animal Obsessed on the television talk show Dr. Phil, on March 25, 2014,[4][5] where he explained "he believes he’s half dog and half human", and that "he dresses in a sheepdog costume, eats dog food, carries a squeaky toy, sleeps in a dog house and loves to play with 'other dogs' at the park."
