BlindWolf8 (real name: Dan Fischbach, born 1986) is a furry raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, United States.

[edit] Relation to the furry community

  • BlindWolf8 is the author of Furry Academia, an essay intended to explain the were and furry fandoms or communities to the general populace. It was written for the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
  • In October of 2007, BlindWolf8 offered to host FurMorphed. On March 16th 2008, BlindWolf8 no longer hosts, pays for hosting, or pays for domain name costs relating to FurMorphed due to a conflict of interest.
  • BlindWolf8 owns many furry-related domain names.
  • BlindWolf8 participates in Dr. Kathy Gerbasi's Furry Research Group.

[edit] Birth and Blindness

BlindWolf8 was born three and a half months premature, and only weighed a pound and a half. Due to his premature birth, his eyesight was waning in both of his eyes. Doctors did surgery on his right eye (which was experimental at the time) to give him limited sight in his right eye. The experimental surgery in question was cryotherapy, a now defunct treatment for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). The treatment itself is known under the abbreviation CRYO-ROP. His left remains completely blind, and it also suffers from a cataract. Both of his eyes suffer from nystagmus.

BlindWolf8 has graduated NJIT in the Spring of 2008 and has a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology. He is attending Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA) to obtain a Masters in Interactive Entertainment with a focus in production.
