Blathers is an owl character from the Animal Crossing video game franchise that solely maintains the museum. True to his species, he is nocturnal, and dozes during the day. He is also known for his fear of insects, which he discusses each time the player brings an insect to him, and on the occaisions he discusses his personal history.
