The Beastie Board was a furry forum on the (defunct) GEnie bulletin board system. In a time before MUCK or instant messengers, the Beastie Board held monthly Real Time Chats on the first Saturday of the month to get together and hang out.
The Beastie Board was was part of the Comics Roundtable, Categories 38 and 39 and moderated by Flinthoof. It had dozens of notable people posting including Squirreltech, Doug Winger (he can write!), Centaurus, Silent Red, Brooklyn Otter, Zrath-Smiley, Flenser, Wulfraed, Zhora, Jason Vargr, Karl F. Meyers, Chuck Melville, Glen Wooten, Centaur, and many more.
