[edit] Antheria 2010

The first Antheria was scheduled to take place October 1-3, 2010. Stan Sakai was the Guest of Honor, while Matthew Ebel and Mark Merlino were named special guests, and performances from Uncle Kage and 2, the Ranting Gryphon were on the schedule.

This convention was conceived with the hope that, since LAX is a major international hub to the United States, it might be easier and less expensive for international anthropomorphics fans and other fans across the U.S. to attend a California convention.

[edit] First but not last

The original outing on Saturday was scheduled to visit the far edge of nearby Manhattan Beach, but due to the distance of walking, it was opted to visit the Redondo Beach Boardwalk, the arcade there, and then the Redondo Beach Pier. There was also a bridal reception at the con hotel. Despite our best efforts to respect their space, the overjoyed bridal party begged some fursuiters to spice up their happy event, which they did. A second Redondo Boardwalk walkthrough was scheduled Sunday before the parade to the private party at the nearby enclosed lagoon was to start. The party started very late as the Cesars' cruise was very slow to return. One fursuit enjoyed a swim during the wait.

[edit] Antheria 2011

The second edition of Antheria is scheduled to take place 30 September-2 October, 2011, at the Crowne Plaza in Redondo Beach, California. Mike Kazaleh is the guest of honor.

[edit] Charity

Antheria is a charitable event, with a charity auction to benefit the organization of their choice. Unlike many other anthropomorphics conventions, Antheria has publicly decided to favor science and research organizations, rather than conservation or rehabilitation. Antheria has made it clear that no organization which practices destructive, damaging or harmful research on animals will ever be considered as a recipient of their charitable efforts. Antheria supports research toward animal communication, health and understanding.

Antheria's charity for their 2010 event was The Alex Foundation.
