Andrew Fraser was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 2 March 1976. He graduated from Aquinas College in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Majoring in Sculpture and Minoring in Ceramics. Post graduation he attended a two-week course in traditional Animation at Oxbow, Summer camp to the Chicago Art Institute. He is currently living in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and son. His work includes a short-lived webcomic called Big Girl on Campus, Gold Digger Annual #7, Gold Digger Swinsuit #6, and #8. In 2004 he released his first full mini comic Divesuit, an 18-page small press comic with a print run of 10. He now is self publishing through Lulu.com and plans on working on a graphic novel.
He is currently working on a webcomic called Bridgette's Belly where he uses his rubanesque femmes to tell the tale of a young girl cought in life's many oddities. From unplanned pregnancies to complusive eating disorders and weight gain, Bridgette struggles to make her way through life and love. On the subject of his style, he comments:
- I tried to copy manga, but was lousy at it. So I tried to Hybridize the two styles I was playing with (classic comic strip styles like Harold Grey's Little Orphan Annie and my attempt at an alternative hard edge) with some aspects of Manga. Individually they didn't work for me, but fusing them together seemed to yield a style I could call my own. My goal is to be able to call myself an honest writer. I want to try every genre (save for non-fiction) and not limit myself to one type of story. I want to be able to comunicate to a wide audience without barriers.
