The staff of The Alfurnative are Mylunee, Switch MegaWolf, Dibs Razell, Avi, Mastix, Lighty, and Hunter.

Alfurnative's mascot is Vivienne the aardwolf.

The Alfurnative was launched in May of 2022.[2] The first event was held September 30-October 2, 2022, at the Het Arsenaal hotel and Outside venue in Delft.[3]

The second Alfurnative was held from September 22-25, 2023, again at the Het Arsenaal in Delft.

On December 13th 2023, the chairman Hunter announced on Telegram: "The Alfurnative, as a convention, is done".[4][5] The organization intends to declare bankruptcy, as they are financially in the red. He stated that his health issues, which included several hospitalizations, negatively impacted the con's ability to stay organized. He stated that his poor health made it difficult to keep the organizations finances in check, as they had overspent in several areas. Other issues included the lack of delivery of the convention's themed merchandise, due to a poor choice of supplier. The Chinese supplier did not provide correct customs information to the Chinese authorities, which led to the merchandise being held up in customs and eventually destroyed.
