(Redirected from African Wild Dog)
The African wild dog is a tri-colored canine which lives in packs. It is also referred to as the African hunting dog, Cape hunting dog, painted dog, painted wolf, painted hunting dog, spotted dog, or ornate wolf. Their diet consists of meat and they also hunt large birds, especially ostriches. They can also hunt other animals, including antelopes, zebras, buffalo and warthog and catch them by chasing them to exhaustion. Other predators, such as lions and hyenas, sometimes steal the prey that the wild dogs catch.
The African wild dog is a fairly popular species on multiplayer worlds based on The Lion King, perhaps in part due to the species's striking and highly individual appearance.
