2007 Ursa Major Awards
The 2007 Ursa Major Awards ceremony was held at Morphicon 2008 on May 17, 2008. Voting took place between March 15th and April 20th; 208 votes[1] were received from countries as diverse as Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the UK, and the USA. The award plaques were designed by Heather Bruton.
Six awards went to active fandom members, three of whom had won in the two preceding years. Author Kyell Gold won Best Novel and Best Short Fiction twice in the last three years, gaining both in the 2006 awards.
Of the winning nominees, only D.C. Simpson, creator of Ozy and Millie, was available to pick up her award, as she was concurrently the guest of honor for the hosting convention.
