2000 Ursa Major Awards
The ConFurence 12 Special Awards for the Best Anthropomorphics of the 20th Century (having since been retronymed as the 2000 Ursa Major Awards) was the inaugural ceremony of the Ursa Major Awards. The ceremony, hosted by Shirotora, was held at ConFurence 12 on April 20, 2001.
Nominations were accepted from throughout the fandom, with eligibility being extended to all anthropomorphic works having been created from 1900 to 2000. The convention goers were then allowed to vote on the top ten for the best Live Action TV Series, Live Action Feature Film, Animated TV Series, and Animated Feature Film. The awards committee which counted the votes consisted of Greg Bilan, Rod O’Riley, and Fred Patten. Clips from each of the nominees were exhibited to the attending audience in a compilation composed by Anneke Patchen, and the awards were designed by David Bliss.
